In general, many of us like to hold on to a sense of safety and security. We get comfortable doing things a certain way, so being asked to do something differently can trigger emotions such as anger, frustration, depression, fear, and anxiety.

When we feel threatened by change, many of us find creative ways to push back and hold on to the status quo. We tend to offer every reason in the book why we can’t change. Honestly, they’re not reasons at all but more like excuses.

In order for us to experience real growth, in business or in life, it requires change.

When we resist change, it can show up in many ways…

One way – as I stated before, giving excuses why we can’t change,

Blaming others for what we feel we’re not getting in order to make the changes we deeply want to make.

Overcoming the resistance to change requires an honest look at the fears we hold related to change.
