I spent the last two days with some amazing Women Who Wow! This movement is founded by a phenomenal woman, Michelle Pippin, who embodies everything I love about entrepreneurship.
My greatest takeaway was confirmation of what I know deep within my soul – you can have the business you desire on your own terms.
How many times have you heard the gurus say, do this or do that or don't do this or don't do that? I'm guessing more times than you care to remember.
I remember when I hired my second business coach and how I felt a little disappointed. It seemed as though she was more interested in steering me in the direction of what was most profitable than what my heart was calling me to do.
Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot from all my coaches and this one was no different. I gained clarity and a deeper understanding of what I truly wanted for my coaching business. For that, I would say I got a fair return on my investment.
But I say all this to say, you can have it your way. I'm a firm believer that your business should be designed the way you want it to be, the way it fits best in your lifestyle or the lifestyle you want to create. I don't believe in cookie-cutter models or strategies.
There are indeed some basic business practices and techniques that will help you become successful in your business but the most effective ones are those that allow you to design your business – your way.
